Welcome to the crossroads.

We're glad to meet you here; there's a journey we'd like to take with you. We wish to join you in exploring the arts--not just on stage, from the audience, but inside out, from the core, deep down and personal. To find a complete list of Creative Intersections activities, please visit this page.

We believe that the gifts the arts give--such as perspective, depth, and humor--echo throughout our lives and make our journeys richer. We've long offered you offstage opportunities to connect with the arts--many of them free--and we continually take steps to expand and improve these programs. Our existing programs are brought together with new opportunities that reflect this sense of connection under "Creative Intersections"--life at the crossroads of art and experience.

Classical, Jazz, and Dance Immersion
Explore performances in a new way through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Engaging speakers introduce you to the historical world of composers, choreographers, and musicians, and explore the political, social, and cultural context of these very real people. Steep yourself in an artist's sound, context, life, and legacy through our Immersion programs.

Residency Activities
Offered in partnership with local schools, libraries, businesses, and park districts, activities such as workshops and masterclasses bring you hand-in-hand, face-to-face with Krannert Center artists.

Pre- and Post-performance Discussions
Enjoy fascinating conversation and observations during Prelude, Concert Prep, My Life in Art, Dessert and Conversation, Libretto, and Talkback sessions with designers, directors, and performers.

Afterglow, Interval, and Traffic Jam Events
Afterglow concerts provide fine music in a casual setting after selected performances. The incredible variety of our free, noontime Interval concerts are a favorite with audiences of all ages. Traffic Jams, free events held in the lobby at 5pm, offer an opportunity to unwind after a day's work with live musical events of varying styles.

Join Us
So, if you're curious, come down the road. You'll find an event that's right for you, whether it's a lecture for people brand-new to classical music or a program discussing intricate musical structures. The arts offer doors for everyone, and we'll tailor our educational offerings to your needs. With this knowledge, you'll get more deeply inside the music, theatre, or dance you'll see performed and come away from the performance with a new understanding.

Please join us at the crossroads, for music in full color, for theatre in life's context, for dance in all its dimensions -- for understanding, wonder, and joy.

Creative Intersections activities are brought to you by The News-Gazette and Krannert Center.
